Tribute to San Luis Rey Band of Luiseno Indians
I met Monica Chapa-Domercq a couple of weekends ago at a joint meeting of Southern California Chapters of REFORMA (http://www.reforma.org/). She let me know about this tribute below. A great model and homage and so important... She sent the information below:
The Oceanside Public Library just did a tribute to the indigenous people of the San Luis Rey Valley in which
Oceanside (California) is located. It was called Payomkawichum (People of the West). Artifacts, photos and art of the San Luis Rey Band of LuiseƱo Indians were exhibited. Here is a link to the flyer: http://www.slrmissionindians.org/
